Brand Development, Packaging, and Marketing for SEAL Hemostatic Wound Spray

Branding a Life-Saving Product

Background

BC3 Technologies engaged us to help launch the world’s first patented hemostatic wound spray, by developing the logo, product labels, product cartons, website and marketing materials.

SEAL Hemostatic Spray is a patented, powerful bleeding control solution designed for first responders, tactical teams, and emergency preparedness. Whether you're dealing with minor cuts or severe wounds, SEAL provides fast, reliable hemostasis when seconds count.

The product is cleared by FDA to treat bleeding wounds.

Project Objective

Develop a logo, and trade dress for SEAL PRO and SEAL OTC, to include the on can label, shelf cartons, shipping cartons, website and a large variety of marketing materials as well as trade show graphics and more.

The client wanted to stand out from the usual medical market. They wanted their product to read much more dynamic, strong and impactful. Choosing a black can for their PRO version, and their choice of blood red and cyan blue for an arresting palette.

Project Outline

  • Discovery & Research: Conducted interviews with stakeholders to uncover the brand’s core values and unique selling points. Target markets are varied from Emergency Responders and Military Agencies to Homeowners, outdoorsmen and any person who comes in risk of severe bleeding injuries or wounds.
Our experience understanding the barriers and guardrails to provide approvable design allowed for a successful end product for our client.

  • Trade Dress Design: Using the logo and style guide already developed, we designed concepts for the packaging design using pieces of the logo as design element.

o   Spray Can Labels: Designed Labels for the spray can for PRO version and OTC (over-the-counter) versions. Additionally designed trainer label for the product.

o   Single Pack Shelf Cartons:  Designed matching cartons for PRO and OTC

    o   Trainer Label

  • Marketing Material Design: One sheets, Cut Sheets, Business Cards

  • Trade Show Graphics: Booth display components: Graphic Backdrops, Retractable banners, Illuminated Signage, Posters, Table Coverings, Swag,

  • Website Design and Development: For launch we developed a website that provided information for many audiences from the general public, to professional emergency responders and military.

Results

  • This life-saving product is being picked up by military and emergency responders world-wide. It is also being added to first-aid kits in homes, schools and work trucks.  It continues to gain traction in the field as lives are saved from severe bleeding injuries caused by violence and foreign conflicts.

  • Our work continues. We assist the client on new marketing pieces for this product, using both print and digital strategies.

Conclusion

Our experience in understanding the barriers and guardrails allowed us to provide approvable design options and a successful end product for our client.

The packaging we designed is being used today. We continue to work with the client on edits, and changes as needed by the changing needs.  The website went through a number of iterations of our marking and recently our client partnered with another agency to design a new website.
